7 Killed By Boko Haram In Maiduguri Road Siege

Seven travelers have been killed along the Maiduguri-Biu road by members of the Boko Haram sect.
The outlawed sect was alleged to have laid siege on the road on Saturday when its members killed seven persons, forcing many motorists to avoid the Maiduguri-Biu highway and some other major highways leading into the troubled town.
Local sources said the gunmen waylaid the unsuspecting travellers on Saturday and also stormed Gwargube, an adjoining village to the road, where they summoned the villagers, threatening to kill them if they did not cooperate.
“In Gwargube, they vowed to kill the villagers and burn their properties if they cooperate with security operatives.
