10 Escape Death In Lagos Storey Building Collapse
At least 10 persons have escaped death after a two-storey building under construction at 11 Sand Beach lanes off Alonge Street, Oworonshoki, Kosofe Local Government in Lagos State collapsed on Thursday morning.
Workers were said to be busy on the construction when the building caved-in on them at about 11:00 am, leaving 10 construction workers trapped under the rubbles.
Four teenagers working as assistants to the construction workers were among those trapped. Three of the teenagers were identified as: Monday Ahungbe, Jimoh Adebi and Moses Atoketi.
No death was recorded in the building collapse but varying degree of injuries were recorded.
According to a resident who identified himself as Mr. Adetayo Olawale, the building collapsed at about 11:00 pm while construction works were still ongoing which led to pandemonium, as everyone scampered for safety.”
