BBC Nomination Thrills Victor Moses
Chelsea’s
Nigeria international forward, Victor Moses, who is on loan at
Liverpool has expressed delight over his nomination for the 2013 BBC
African Footballer of the Year award.
The BBC’s Newsday programme listed five candidates for the 2013 award
on Monday and opened voting for African football fans, which is
expected to close on the 25 November.
“Wow been nominated for BBC African Player of the Year. Really honoured,” Moses tweeted (@VictorMoses).
None of the five candidates nominated for this year’s award has won
the BBC awards before and the 22-year-old, who was named alongside
fellow Super Eagles teammate John Mikel Obi, will contend with Ivory
Coast’s Yaya Toure, Burkina Faso’s Jonathan Pitroipa and Pierre-Emerick
