Imo PDP Declines Okorocha’s One Seat Offer For Christian Pilgrimage
The
leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State has
rejected the offer of a seat for the 2013 Christian pilgrimage to Israel
by Governor Rochas Okorocha. The party decried the hostility it has continued to receive in the hands of the Rochas Okorocha led government, adding that the decision of the governor to allocate the seat to the party lacks justification.
“You can still make use of the one seat allocation to State PDP in line with the winner takes it all philosophy of the present state government.”
The party leadership, however, gave Gov. Okorocha one condition to show that he is interested in building healthy relationship with PDP in Imo State, saying he should recall the sacked 10,000 youths whose employments by the immediate past administration of Ikedi Ohakim, he terminated and to obey all outstanding court judgments including the case affecting the local government council chairmen.
He noted that there was nothing wrong for the governor to extend his hands of fellowship to PDP in the state but added that the problem about Imo PDP is that they don’t want to hear about the achievements of the Rochas Okorocha administration.
“PDP should go and learn how to be an opposition party and to stop talking about irrelevant issues,” he stressed.
