Anambra Guber: Ngige, Obiano, Ubah, Ezeemo Made Final Round Of Debate
Four
governorship candidates out of the 23 contestants for the Nov. 16
election in Anambra made it to the final round of the debate organised
by the Nigeria Elections Debate Group (NEDG).The four candidates who made the list are Sen. Chris Ngige of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Willie Obiano of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Dr Ifeanyi Ubah of Labour Party (LP).
Mr Godwin Ezeemo of Progressive Peoples’ Alliance (PPA) also made it to the final round, where all the 23 contestants were quizzed by a panel of seasoned journalists.
During the debate, Ngige said corruption had affected all facets of the Nigerian society but promised to check the menace by ensuring due process in his administration if elected.
He said “I intend to construct a stadium because Anambra needs sporting facilities to develop, especially in Awka”.
The APC candidate promised to pay minimum wage with relativity.
The APGA candidate described sports as key to the development strategy of his party.
The Labour party candidate said the promotion of administrative justice and the independence of the judiciary would be key issues in fighting corruption.
He said “as a youth ambassador of Soccer, I will promote sports if elected”.
On his part, Ezeemo said value re-orientation of the people would be paramount to his administration if elected.
“I will introduce new measures in the civil service that will encourage people to do the right things”, he stressed. (NAN)
