Marwa’s Defection Of No Consequence To Adamawa APC – Defunct CPC Stakeholders

Marwa’s Defection Of No Consequence To Adamawa APC – Defunct CPC Stakeholders

Buba-MarwaThe defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) stakeholders in Adamawa State led by the former state chairman of CPC, Hon. Ibrahim Bappa Waziri, have distanced themselves from the recent defection of Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd) from the All Progressives Congress to Peoples Democratic Party.
They announced this at a meeting in reaction to reports that Marwa had dumped the APC for PDP over alleged marginalization of his supporters during the just concluded membership registration exercise of the APC. The reports also stated that the former CPC governorship candidate in Adamawa also defected en masse with his supporters.
But at the meeting, which was attended by defunct CPC stakeholders from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state on Wednesday in Yola, the state capital, Waziri said Marwa came to CPC to meet them there and had defected back to PDP the same way he came – without them.
Another stakeholder, Engr Suleiman Abdullahi, said while they bore no ill-feelings towards Marwa, they were concerned about claims that he took most members of the defunct CPC along with him back to the PDP.
“We would not have bothered to meet to dissociate ourselves from Marwa if not for the allegations that members of defunct CPC defected along with him”, Abdullahi said.
Alhaji Mustafa Salihu, who spoke on behalf of the youths, said they were also not with Marwa as his allegations of marginalization which led to his defection was unsatisfactory.
Salihu said “Marwa must apologize for wrongfully accusing APC leaders in the state (of) marginalizing him and his supporters.
“In fact, we gave Marwa one week to apologize for wrongly accusing our party leaders or else we will expose him”, Salihu said.
Speaking on behalf of the women, Hajiya Fatima Yawale and Mrs Rose Simon said APC members should not lose sleep over the former Lagos military administrator saying he left with the same “few people he came with the time he defected to defunct CPC from PDP”.
