Popular actress Liz Anjorin has recently surprised her fans when photos of her on Muslim Pilgrimage to Mecca surfaced online.
Later the celebrity said that she was changing her religion from Christianity to Islam.
She also dropped the name Elizabeth and changed it for Aisha, in light with her new religion. Liz has finally revealed the truth…
Liz tells City People
“It happened in a miraculous way which I have been expecting for long, not that I woke up yesterday and decided to change my religion. By birth, I was half Muslim and half Christian.
“My father was Christian while my mum was Muslim. Growing up I went to church because of my father. I didn’t have a choice at the time but I have always had interest in Islam so immediately my father died I switched over to my mum’s religion.
“It is a religion I love so much. Also Aisha is now my official name though Liz is still my name and I will continue to use the name to do movies.

Triple Combo: Omawumi Reunites With Baby Daddy + Shares Blurry Photo Of Them + Gives Engagement Hint

omawumi-

Omawumi
Singer, Omawumi has kept her intimate life very secret and till this very day, it’s still a mystery.
It seems the singer has resovled her issues with the father of her daughter.
Omawumi had a child in the US, in 2011; and ever since then, there’s been no word of who the father of the child is.
Some sources are quite sure that the father is Tosin Yusuf, but there hasn’t been any proof so far.
I can’t really say if Omawumi is now in talking terms with her baby daddy or she has fallen in love with someone else, but the truth will soon be known.
Omawumi shared a blurry photo of herself, her daughter Kamillah Emmanuella Yusuf and Baba Kamillah on Instagram days ago, the photo is so blurry you can hardly make out the image of the man suspected to the her baby’s daddy.
Omawumi also told sources that we should expect “good news” soon as regards to herself and baby daddy. She wrote: -
Baba Kamillah, Kami and Mummy… I wish I cld share more. Thank you so much for your patience. Clearer photos and good news sooner than you know. God is always good.

I Did Not Request For Armoured Cars – Oduah

stella-cars1The embattled Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah, who is currently enmeshed in a N255 million armored cars purchase scandal, has explained that she never requested for the said cars just as she blamed her media aide for misinforming the Nigerian public.
Ms Oduah, while fielding questions from the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation, admitted that though NCAA needs new operational vehicles, the armored cars were not meant for her use but for foreign dignitaries.
“Nothing in the stated documents mentioned my name. I did not request for any vehicles. All I did was to approve the purchase, subject to the agency doing the needful. NCAA followed due process as required by law.
“The Federal ministry of aviation under my watch has always ensured we act in a prudent manner and under the ambit of the law” Oduah defended.
She further explained that the cars purchased were included in the “needs” of the NCAA in its quarterly budgeting.
“It is not true, cannot be true that NCAA bought bullet proof vehicles for honourable minister of aviation. My understanding is that what NCAA has done is to plan for its vehicle needs for the next three years under the Medium Term Expenditure Framework”.
The minister also took a swipe at numerous online publications, saying their allegations were not substantiated but based on the “erroneous” comment of her aide – Joel Obi, who initially admitted that the cars were purchased for Ms Oduah’s use following clear and present threats to her life.

Govt Cannot Perform Magic In The Midst Of Insecurity, Violence – Jonathan

jonathan-portrait1President Goodluck Jonathan has warned that without peace and political stability, no nation can attain greatness.
He stated this on Wednesday while receiving the 2013 Africa Peace Award from the United Religions Initiatives (URI) at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Mr. Jonathan, who only returned to the country late Tuesday night after his pilgrimage and working visit to Israel and Palestine, maintained that for the nation to develop economically, all Nigerians, must embrace peace.
According to the President, dialogue remains the only effective tool for resolving crises anywhere in the world.
He also affirmed that in spite of the current security challenges, he would continue to do his best to ensure peace and stability in the country.
His words, “Even when countries are fighting, at the end of the day, they’ll still come to the dialogue table to resolve. They’ve hardly resolved through the barrel of the gun. Even with the most sophisticated weapons to fight, they‘ll still come to negotiate. Otherwise, you can never live in peace. So, let me call on all Nigerians, especially the young people… If you come to the Southern part of this country, you hear about militancy and kidnapping, and if you go to the North, you have this issue of Boko Haram. For us to develop our country, we must all embrace peace.
“There is no way the government can perform magic when the people are shooting guns because economic growth and development is in the hands of the private sector. There cannot be economic development without peace”, he added.

UBTH To Acquire N100m Cancer Machine

UBTH To Acquire N100m Cancer Machine

ubth
The Chief Medical Director, University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Prof. Michael Ibadin, on Wednesday, said the hospital would acquire a machine that cures cervical cancer.
Making the disclosure during the maiden edition of UBTH public lecture series in Benin entitled: “The Burden of Cancer of the Cervix”, Ibadin said that the N100-million cancer therapy machine would provide 100 per cent cure for cancer of the cervix.
He said the machine would be acquired in the next few months.
He added that “the outlook of cancer cases is not as hopeless as before. There are now possible cure for certain cancers.”
Prof. Etedafe Gharoro, a Consultant Gynaecology Oncologist in UBTH, said cancer of the cervix is caused by a Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).
Gharoro said that globally, about 530,000 new cases of cervical cancers were identified each year with 275,000 deaths per year.
“Approximately, 85 per cent of the deaths occur in low and middle income countries with Nigeria accounting for more than 10 per cent.
“From January 1993 to December 1998, cervical cancer made up 74. 6 per cent of all malignant gynaecological cancer admissions in UBTH,” Gharoro said.
He listed risk factors of the disease to include multiple s*xual partners, having s*x with a male partner who is not circumcised and young age at first intercourse.
Other risk factors are non-penetrative s*xual contact, poor nutrient status, smoking, having many children and advanced age.
The consultant noted that there were no early symptoms for the disease, stressing that by the time signs were noticed, the disease had already been established.
He said women experiencing irregular vaginal bleeding, post-menopausal bleeding and lower abdominal pains should seek medical care as they could be signs of cervical cancer.
Gharoro said that cervical cancer screening and use of HPV vaccine were necessary to reduce the spread of the disease.
He also called for effective advocacy and establishment of a functioning national cancer registry and surgical treatment to ensure prevention of the disease.

Senate Threatens Not To Include SURE-P In 2014 Budget

senate-chamber_anti_terrorism_bill
The Senate may not appropriate funds for the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme, SURE-P, in the 2014 Budget, if ministers and heads of agencies involved in the programme fail to appear before it to defend how they have handled projects and funds allocated to the SURE-P in this year’s budget, the upper legislative chamber has indicated, warning that it would not condone actions of government appointees who refuse to appear before any of its committees to answer or defend issues relating to their offices.
Giving the warning at a briefing, Senate Deputy Leader and Chairman, Senate Ad-hoc Committee on SURE-P, Abdul Ningi, the committee held to state its position over non-appearance of Minister of Works, Mike Onolememen, at its session, yesterday.
“For us as a committee, we will not take it, we will not condone it. This is a show of lawlessness, and crass ignorance of the law. A minister of this government cannot refuse to appear before any committee of the National Assembly, talk less of the Senate committee that is saddled with the responsibility of unfolding a programme that is not clear to Nigerians,” Ningi said.
He described as inappropriate the way several government appointees had treated the National Assembly in like manner in the past, adding that by refusing to appear before the committee, the ministers were clearly showing the world and Nigerians in particular that President Goodluck Jonathan appointed the wrong people in government.
“Why we invite these ministers is to come and give a run-down of their activities and their challenges; but here we are, a country that does not regard the rule of law. These ministers continue in their wishful thinking that they can frustrate this committee.
“We will take every available legal instrument to deal with them and for some of us, when they cannot come and answer on a laudable programme such as SURE-P, then certainly, they are trying to undermine this government, they are trying to undermine the president and the National Assembly.
“Therefore, this will be the last time that we will condone any minister, whoever he is, and whatever is his portfolio and whatever is his connection that he will not appear before the Senate committee and without any reason for doing that,” he threatened.
Speaking further, Ningi said, “And this is a programme that a lot of people are asking questions and therefore they are making this programme shrouded in secrecy. And it is clear that a strong message be sent to the president and his ministers, otherwise among some of the things we may take, we can refuse to appropriate a single kobo to this programme but before we do that, there are available options that can be taken in making sure that any public officer who is required by a committee must appear.
“I will repeat this, this is no longer business as usual, people must be accountable, and they must be responsible for their actions. Any minister who therefore refuses to show his face, we will take necessary legal actions against him,” he added.

Fashola Proposes To Spend N489.69b In 2014

Lagos-2014-budgetGovernor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) yesterday presented a 2014 budget estimate of N489.690 billion to the State House of Assembly for consideration and approval.
Presenting the 2014 budget estimate before a large audience of stakeholders including party chieftains and captains of industries, Fashola noted that the proposed budget was about N10 billion shy of the 2013 budget (as amended).
He said the budget has N234.665 billion as recurrent expenditure and N255.025 billion for capital expenditure.
A breakdown of the 2014 budget proposal showed a Total Personnel Cost/Total Revenue of 19 per cent; Total Personnel Cost/IGR, of 27 per cent, and Personnel Cost as percentage of Recurrent Expenditure of 37 per cent, anchored on a zero deficit financing requirement.
The sectoral breakdown is as follows: General Public Service, N100.215 billion; Public Order & Safety, N17.977 billion; Economic Affairs, N160.046 billion and Environmental Protection, N39.727 billion.
Similarly, the Housing and Community Amenities sector got N50.537 billion; Health was allocated N37.8 billion; Recreation, Culture and Religion got N3.482 billion, while N77.423 billion and N2.466billion are devoted to Education and Social Protection, respectively.
Fashola explained that due to the fact that this is the last full year budget that his administration would implement, as he would be handing over the mantle of leadership in 2015, there’s a slight reduction in budget size when compared with the 2013 budget, stating that its focus is “to complete on-going projects, and consolidate on the gains we have made.”
He listed the sectoral highlights of the 2014 budget as; General Public Service, Pensions, Residents Registration and Issuance of permanent residents’ cards, implementation of Public Procurement Law, Public Order and Safety, Computerisation/Automation of Judicial procedures, including e-filing, Completion of on-going High/Magistrate Courts’ projects, Renovation/Rehabilitation of Court Rooms and Judges Chambers, and Improving Safety and Disaster Management.
He also said the budget would focus on implementation of various Independent Power Projects, development of Enterprise Zones in Gberigbe, Ikorodu and Upgrading of Yaba Industrial Park, advancement of Ten-Lane Lagos-Badagry Expressway/Blue Rail Line Corridor, completion of other on-going Road Construction Projects and pedestrian bridges, Agric-YES, Accelerated Food Expansion Program, Rice, Animal Husbandry and Root Crops, among others.
“One of our programmes that we will be paying attenition to is the Residents’ Registration exercise. As I said at the launch, it is for Residents of Lagos and no more. It seeks to register everybody who intends to live here for up to 6 (six) months and beyond, irrespective of where they come from,” he stressed, adding that “with effect from the 1st of December 2013, it will be a requirement in terms of information to be provided in order to enable us to provide service to you or process requests from you.”

25 students and 2 teachers of Ogba Junior Secondary School, Lagos, yesterday, went into coma after inhaling a chemical waste allegedly discharged into drainage by a company, Bizcircuit Photo Laboratory, located a few metres from the school premises.
According to reports, the gas enveloped the school premises at noon when students and teachers were in the school, and they began to feel dizzy, with some of them collapsing after inhaling the emission from chemical spread to their school premises by air.
Following the incident, some of the teachers raised an alarm which attracted some members of the public, who immediately called officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency on their toll free lines.
The unconscious students and teachers were immediately rushed to Blue Cross Hospital, located opposite the shopping mall for urgent medical attention.
Two of the affected female students whose condition was critical were transferred in a Lagos State Emergency Ambulance marked LA 156 A08 to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, in Ikeja.
One of the school’s pupils, Adetayo Adekanbi, said: “We were in the classroom when we perceived the offensive gas and smoke clouding the entire premises. We never knew the gas was injurious.
“Immediately I noticed it, I ran towards the gate to escape inhaling the gas. But some of my mates became unconscious after inhaling the gas.”
The Head of Logistic, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Mr. Femi Giwa, said that of the 25 victims, four were in critical condition but responding to treatment.
Giwa said: “On arrival at the scene, we conducted a general assessment and discovered that certain liquid chemicals, with offensive and choking odour, used for production in the photo lab on the first floor of a shopping complex, could have led to the incident.”
He said that Lagos State government immediately sealed the premises of the photo laboratory concerned and arrested three of its staff.
Giwa, however, assured that proper investigation would be conducted to analyse the chemical that gave off the offensive gas and its effect on the environment.
Also speaking, state Director of Fire and Safety Services, Mr. Rasaq Fadipe, said officials assisted the rescue team in controlling the chemical fumes from spreading further.

When asked if she planned to throw away the baby because of an alleged paternity mess, she denied, claiming  that a welder turned block maker near her residence was responsible for the pregnancy that resulted in the birth of the dead baby she was caught with. .
Officials of the Community Development Association, CDA, in the area later accompanied the woman and her sack of baby to the Isheri-Oshun Police Division where the matter was reported.

Young, Rich Rulers Of Naija Music

Young, Rich Rulers Of Naija Music

A new generation of artistes are rocking the entertainment scene and smiling to the bank, JAYNE AUGOYE reports

young-360x335
A wind of change is currently blowing across the music industry in Nigeria. A new order championed by young, vibrant and talented artistes has emerged. Rather than curse the day that their children decided to embrace a career in music instead of education, the parents of these wave-making artistes are pleased with the success they have achieved.
Today, the young artistes are giving the older and established stars a run for their money. These new-wave superstars now rub shoulders with the same artistes whom they once looked up to or chose as role models.
Apart from competing with the ‘old guards’ in terms of income and expenditure, they are often nominated for major music awards in similar categories.
Multinationals and telecommunications outfits, as well as other major events sponsors, have realised that the younger generation of music artistes represent the future of entertainment in Nigeria. With a good number of them aged between 20 and 25 years and a few others barely clocking 30, the sky seems to be the limit.
Many of the emerging stars are not just rich; they flaunt their wealth at every given opportunity. It seems that the rewards for their modest efforts at making many Nigerians happy are without limit and they always come in the form of luxury mansions, sold-out concerts, huge fan base, state-of-the-art cars, bestselling albums, multi-million naira endorsement deals, chattered flights, big budget videos, custom-made outfits, ‘bling bling’ and generous airplay on terrestrial TV stations.
Usually dressed in sagging pairs of trousers with expensive jewellery around their necks, many of them charge as much as N1.5m to mime to their songs for only 10 minutes at wedding parties or concerts. Many of them had to drop out of school to pursue a career in music.
E-Punch presents six young music stars that have taken the music scene by storm.
Wizkid
At 23, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, a.k.a Wizkid, leads the pack. A string of endorsement deals, including one from MTN, has placed him on the list of big earning music artistes in Nigeria. At present, he is the highest paid Pepsi Ambassador in Africa and he lives in a N140m choice home in Lekki, Lagos.
Wizkid’s personal cars include a N14.6million Porsche Panamera, Rolls Royce, N10m BMW X6, N6million blue Volkswagen convertible and a Hyndai Sonata.
The talented singer, songwriter and performer has emerged one of Nigeria’s hottest music acts, seven years after he broke into the Nigerian music scene. The last child in a family of six, Wizkid began to sing at the age of 11. Like new wine, his performance matured with age. His talent has taken him to different parts of the world and seen him perform alongside world class artistes, such as Chris Brown, Akon, and Young Jeezy, and Kardinal Official.
The young man’s fortunes improved in 2012, a few months after he released his Superstar album. As expected, his rating soared in the same year and he was named the second most influential Nigerian artiste on Twitter, an enviable position which clearly reflected his growing popularity.
Wizkid’s position on the African music chart was further justified after he made it to the Channel O/Forbes List of Bankable African Artistes. Mentioned alongside big weights like Don Jazzy, Psquare, D’banj, he was placed ahead of Tuface Idibia, on the list. Early in the year, he threw a free appreciation party for his fans at the New African Shrine. He has the BET, MTV, Channel O, Ghana Music Awards to his credit.
Olamide
Olamide Adedeji, aka Badoo, has succeeded in filling the vacuum created by the death of rap sensation, Dagrin. The alternative rapper, who has redefined the word Razz as the new cool, has been dubbed the ‘king of the streets. He recently signed a multimillion naira endorsement deal with the makers of Ciroc Ultra Premium vodka.
For the self acclaimed ‘Voice of the Street’, who grew up in the Bariga area of Lagos, fame did not come cheap. He fell in love with rap music at a tender age and was always visiting renowned producer ID Cabasa’s music studio in his school uniform.
Today, Olamide hobnobs with some of the industry big names, especially D’banj. Pictures of both artistes surfaced online and their close relationship gave room to speculation that he had been signed on to the seld-styled Koko Master’s record label.
The rapper’s hit songs comprise Jale, Street Love, Jesu O kola, Durosoke, Stupid Love, First of All and Ilefo Illuminati. His forthcoming album titled ‘Baddest Guy Ever Liveth’ will be released in October.
Today, the 24-year-old star acquired a brand new 2013 Range Rover Sport. He also topped the winners list at the 2013 Nigerian Entertainments Awards in New York, US, with three awards.
Ice Prince
Twenty-six-year-old Ice Prince lives like a true superstar. A proud owner of a 2010 model of Bentley GT, a Range Rover SUV, among many others, the Chocolate City Records ‘golden boy’ is also a BET Awards winner. Since his first single ‘Oleku’ was released, he has witnessed a meteoric rise to the top.
He gained international recognition after beating 2face Idibia to the Best International Act Award at the BET Awards. He recently relocated from his apartment in Palm Groove Estate, Lagos to a bigger apartment in the Ogudu area, after completing a mansion in his hometown, Jos. The buzz around him got louder after he appeared in Yvonne Nelson’s ‘House of Gold’ alongside Ghanaian actor, Majid Michael.
Dammy Krane
At 19, this 2face Idibia protégé is the youngest of the pack. He hit the limelight after signing on 2face’s Hypertek Records in 2012. He started singing when he was eight years-old in the toddlers’ choir in church. By the time he clocked 11, he was already a back-up singer for other artistes. His mum, who is currently based in the US, manages a number of Fuji artistes.
Long before he put out an official single, music video, or inked a record deal, he had over 4,000 followers on twitter. With his hit singles, My Dear and Ligali, the artiste known for his melodic voice, engaging lyrics and exciting genre of alternative music has collaborated with the biggest names in the industry.
Burna Boy
Burna Boy made newspaper headlines after reports emerged that he sold the marketing rights to his debut album, ‘Leaving an impact for eternity’ for N10m to popular Alaba music and movie marketer, Uba Pacific.
The album is also said to have made a record sale of 40,000 units on the day of its release.
The singer has the backing of his grandfather, Benson Idonije, who was the manager of the late Afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti.
Burna Boy officially broke into the music industry in December 2010 when he moved back to Nigeria from London and has remained a household name in Port-Harcourt. But, it wasn’t until June, 2012, when he made a cross-over to the Lagos music scene with his mid-tempo Summer Jam, Like to Party. He is a Globacom Ambassador.
Davido
At 20, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is one of the most popular young artistes in Nigeria. The singer drew the attention of millions of music fans when he introduced himself as Omo baba olowo in his hit song titled Dami duro. Translated from Yoruba to English language, it means ‘son of a rich man’.
Davido, whose father, Dr. Deji Adeleke, is the chairman of Keplo-Pacific Energy Pacific, a company that is involved in banking, steel, power and energy, found his way to the top as if with the snap of a finger.
The youngster, who is not afraid to boast about his father’s wealth, always causes a stir on Twitter with his controversial tweets.
So far, he has won some international awards and performed at various shows within and outside the country. He is also the face of MTN Pulse.
Davido’s personal collection of exotic cars comprise a silver 2012 Honda Accord, a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, which he won for being ‘Next Rated’ at the 2012 Headies, a N12m 2012 Audi Q7, N17m Chevrolet Camaro and a N21m Mercedes Benz G55 AMG, his fifth car since he shot to fame last year.

SHOCKING IMAGES: Doctors Grow Disfigured Teenage Girl a New Face On Her chest

2
Warning: Some may find the pictures distressing
A teenage girl who was left horrifically disfigured in a fire has had a new face grown on her chest by doctors.
The move follows a similar operation in which another group of Chinese doctors managed to give a car accident victim a new nose by growing it first on his forehead.
In the latest operation 17-year-old Xu Jianmei woke up after the operation this week to find that she once again had a chin, eyelids and an ear.
But she said best of all she could smile properly for the first time in 12 years since the fire that left her horrifically disfigured when she was just five.
The parents had been able to afford plastic surgery to improve her life in any way but that changed when doctors working on the pioneering new technology offered her the chance to have surgery for free.
It meant that the girl from the small Chinese fishing village received the face transplant using tissue from her chest in an operation that has now been carried out.
The transplant team in Fujian province built her new face using a blood vessel from her leg and a water-filled balloon to expand her skin. It then took several months to ‘grow’ the new face until it was large enough to cover her missing facial features.
Video footage after last week’s eight-hour surgery shows Ms Xu lying in a hospital bed, barely conscious and severely swollen, but with smooth flesh now replacing the ridged scars of her old face.
“With her new face she will be able to express herself in a more precise way. She will even be able to blush when her emotions change, but it will take a long time,” her surgeon, Jiang Chenhong, claimed.
“First, we took a piece of blood vessel fascia from her thigh and implanted it in her chest. Then we inserted a skin expander beneath the part of skin where the blood vessel fascia was planted, so that the part could expand and produce enough skin for her new face,” Jiang Chenghong added.
Chinese teams are said to have performed several similar transplant surgeries in recent months, including creating a new nose on a car accident survivor’s forehead, using a skin expander and cartilage from his ribs. That transplant was successfully completed in September.
China’s first donor face transplant recipient, farmer Li Guoxing, received his new face in 2006. That was less than a year after the world’s first successful face transplant recipient, Isabelle Dinoir, was presented to media in France.
However, Mr Li died less than two years later, after stopping his anti-rejection medication. Since then 10 surgeries of this kind have been performed in China.
Doctors believe that the wounds left by the surgery on Xu will heal over the next several weeks.

Nigeria’s 5 Worst Dressed Celebrities (Photos)

okoro_ini_edo
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! We have so many best dressed celebrities lately cos it seems every one ‘em wanna look superb, even tho some go the extra mile just to look good at events or gatherings, so they are bringing up their ‘A’ game.
A best dressed person is someone who is perfectly styled, decently dressed, someone who has charisma, captivating look, has a very good combination and most importantly the dressed most fits you.. Even if you are wearing cheap material you still make the dress look expensive..
Best dressed is totally different from being fashionable… Being fashionable is the combination of good or bad or crazy or weird materials together just to make you unique. You can be fashionable by looking crazy or weird but can’t be best dressed looking crazy or awkward..
So here are the list of worst dressed celebrities in no particular order:

1. Rukky Sanda : She’s an actress, I’m sure you know her right.. She’s got a great body but she doesn’t dress spectacularly but always careless with her dressing.. Do you guys still remember the nip slip and also the tight leggings showing her crotch?

2. Modenine: As long as I am concerned, the rapper still remains the worst dressed Nigerian rapper.. He’s a very good and talented artiste but being talented doesn’t necessarily transcend into your dressing… Modenine is one artiste that wears big blazers to an award show in a hot weather.

3. Denrele: Denrele is one of the most fashionable people… He’s not best dressed he’s just got the taste and eyes for fashion.. The Crazy looking guy is far from being best dressed but he’s got a fashion statement that makes him standout and unique.. Looking like Denrele does not make you a best dressed but a worst dressed.. No parent would allow his or her child to grow up and look like Denrele *lol*

4. Mercy Johnson: She still remains the sexiest nollywood actress, but in terms of dressing; it is a no no. She’s one actress that doesn’t know how to put it together despite her hourglass shape.. Mercy Johnson is one of worst dressed actress but one of the most talented actress ever..

5. Charly Boy: Area father still remains worst dressed celebrity of all time, he’s a legend and he started this weird and scary look even before we knew about Denrele. Charly boy is totally fashionable but still remains the scariest worst dressed celebrity of all time.. At some point I thought he was gonna change his dress sense cos he’s a grandfather, he has grown up kids oooo. We love area father but not his dressing..

The Nigeria Police has described the photograph, which showed a senior police officer in the act of fondling the chest of an unknown lady, as fake. It said the picture, which went viral on the Internet, was deliberately fabricated with the aid of Adobe Photoshop technology to mislead the public.

the-controversial-picture
The alleged amorous scene, the police authorities claimed, did not take place and the officer had nothing to do with the woman.
The police said it arrived at this conclusion after interrogating the policeman, who was seen in the type of uniform worn by officers of the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police.
On the official Facebook page of the police, the affected police officer was quoted as saying, “I don’t know this lady. I never took the picture with her.”
However, the authorities did not name the police officer nor give the details of the command where he is serving.
The police said that though it does not forbid its rank and file to pose with members of the public for photographs, it would not tolerate any display of affection for the opposite s*x in full public glare.
“An image showing one of our officers in a compromising position with a lady has gone viral. Please check the hands in the so-called picture that is in circulation and you will agree that they were photo-shopped.
“Other citizens of this country are encouraged to pose for snapshots with our uniformed officers if they so desire, just as it is done worldwide. What we discourage is public display of affection by our uniformed officers,” it said.
After it appeared online, the controversial photograph provoked widespread condemnation from many Nigerians who have described the development as an act of indiscipline.
Claiming to be policemen, some people wrote on the police Facebook page that the phot0graph was the handiwork of mischief makers, who were clearly determined to drag the name of the security agency in mud.
They said that no uniformed officer of the rank of ACP would  be so careless as to pose for a photograph in such a compromising position with a lady.
One Oluwasegun Samuel-Alalade commented on the wall of the Facebook page. “I know it is not real. Even a fresh recruit undergoing training at the Police College will not do such a thing, not to mention a top ranking officer. The Nigeria Police Force should kindly disregard the photograph, “ he wrote.
Also Kabiesy Ojeabulu wrote, “Photoshop or no Photoshop, all I have to say is that the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, should always investigate issues before taking actions. It appears that a large section of the general public does not like the police. So they fabricate anything to tarnish our image. God help us all.”
Another policeman, Adegbola Olafiyin, stated, “I don’t know the offence we committed to deserve this from the public. Imagine here in the state where I am serving, commercial motorcycle riders will not give you a ride despite the fact that you have your money. This whole thing amounts to blackmail.”
But some Nigerians have disagreed with the police authorities on the status of the controversial photograph. They insist that it appears more real than fabricated.
On cknnigeria.com, one Lanre Bewaji wrote: “There are many angles to this picture. It is obvious the lady took the picture and the officer consented to it. No matter how awkward the scenario looks, if the lady was his wife or fiancée, would there be an issue? Until we know the real circumstances behind this picture, the matter is neither here nor there!”
In a tweet to the police, Hyke Ekeanyanwu expressed doubt that the photograph was faked. He said, “I may agree that the hand holding the chest was photo-shopped, but I will not agree that the hand around his (police officer’s) neck does not belong to the lady.”
Wale Bolanle, also on Facebook, queried,“What do you want us to believe? What else do you want him to say? He must surely deny. Is he not a human being?”
Meanwhile, the police authorities may have drawn the battle line with commercial banks in the country over the non-payment of the salaries of policemen.
The Force Headquarters wrote on its Facebook and Twitter handle on Wednesday that then Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, was “angry” with the banks over the matter.
“IGP MD Abubakar, is angry with bankers over delay in payment of Police salaries,” the message read.
Lamenting the situation, one Samuel Dogo, wrote, “The police authorities have allowed the commercial banks to deal with us the way they want because there is no proper monitoring. Nobody wants to know whether we have families and other dependants that are looking up to us for their upkeep.
“The police has the highest rates of deaths and causalities among security agencies in the country. In spite of our tireless efforts to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians, we are not appreciated. We earn the least salaries. Yet, we struggle so hard to ensure that this money is paid at the right time. If I may ask, is it a curse to be a policeman?

SHOCKING: How Human Hair Weave Leads to Death of a Girl, Puts Other to Critical Condition

Irene Myangoh, a personal assistant working at a law firm, went to a renowned hair salon along Kenyatta Avenue, in the Kenyan capital city of Nairobi, and spent more than N5,500 on a human hair weave.

Two weeks later she started suffering from severe headache that would not go away. She even could not sleep at nights and was forced to call a private doctor. The doctor proscribed her drugs for the relief of mild to moderate pain of inflammatory origin with or without fever. This did not solve Myangoh’s problems: the effect from the medicine lasted for a few hours only, and then the headache would be back worse than even before.
Desperate, the lady went to see another specialist who did blood tests and even a brain scan. All the tests were negative but the headache persisted, making her unable to concentrate at work and sleeping very poorly.
Fortunately, her doctor who decided to examine her scalp carefully, and, under the beautiful weave, he found worms!
The worms were burrowing into her skull and after sending the samples to the lab they found that the hair had eggs from which the worms had developed. Irene had to shave after this ordeal and took antibiotics for two weeks. The alleged reason of parasites appearance is that the hair has been taken from a dead body.
In a parallel story, a 16-year-old girl from Buruburu, a Nairobi surburb, also suffered similar fate, but unfortunately for her, she died.
The girl dropped dead after constant headaches. Cobweb eggs were found in her hair after corpse examination. The root of death was unnoticed spider eggs. The warmth produced after weaving provided a very conducive environment for the eggs to hatch.
A spider grew in her scalp and bit her. The poison found its way to her blood. She had no chance to survive the attack…
